No word if ‘no crowd option’ will be available or not, but Wicked Witch have confirmed that AFL Evolution 2 will be released on April 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
AFL Evolution 2 was originally announced to be released to coincide with the 2019 season, but a decision to switch to the Unreal Engine 4 meant their release window was pushed back 12 months. The wait has apparently been worth it as Wicked Witch claim that “AFL Evolution 2 will give fans a vastly improved gaming experience including enhanced graphics and multi-player mode”.
To be honest, I was completely sold of AFL Evolution 2 as soon as my boy Patty Cripps was announced as the cover athlete. But in case you needed more, AFL Evolution 2 is set to include not only the AFL and AFLW leagues, but also VFL, SANFL, WAFL, NEAFL and NAB League competitions, commentary by famous crying stretcher-man himself Garry Lyon and Anthony Hudson, and 16 venues including all your favourite grounds including the exotic Jiangwan Stadium in China, TIO Traeger Park up in Alice Springs, Hobart’s Blundstone Arena, and MARS Stadium in Ballarat.
AFL Evolution 2 is also the first AFL game to be released for a Nintendo console since the subpar AFL was released for the Nintendo Wii back in 2011, this means that you will be able to take your Switch out and enjoy AFL Evolution 2 on the go. No word yet if the Nintendo Switch version will make the April 23 release date, but as soon as we know, you will know!
