AMD today revealed their new line of Zen 3 desktop processors. The powerful new CPUs are the third generation of Ryzen chips and continue the AMD trend of incredible performance increases at reasonable pricing. AMD has said the 5000 Series chips would be on shelves November 5.
Initially, four chips will be available at launch, The Ryzen 5 5600X at $299, Ryzen 7 5800X at $449, Ryzen 9 5900X at $549 and the Ryzen 9 5950X at $799. Each chip offers a significant performance increase to the previous generation in both gaming and professional workloads. It appears for the first time Intel may no longer be the ideal CPU for workstation systems. AMD has come out incredibly strong and still have significant announcements coming later in the month. AMD’s GPU event is set for October 28, which could even further shake up the PC component market.
