It’s finally here! After word got out last week regarding a potential upcoming Crash title, Activision, with the help of Quavo, have announced Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is a brand new game for the series built from the ground up by the development team at Toys for Bob, which does come a bit of a surprise considering how well Vicarious Visions did with the N. Sane Trilogy. Published by Activision Crash 4 is promised to be a true sequel, picking up from where Crash Warped left off.
Back in 1996, the team at Naughty Dog gifted the world their first Crash Bandicoot title which quickly became a staple for the original Playstation. Here we are some 24 years later and that crazy spinning Bandicoot is back at it again.
Crash is a much-loved franchise, and it’s no surprise we are seeing him back in action after the success of the N. Sane Trilogy which sold over 10 million copies.
This time around Crash, Coco and friends will be spinning up a storm in an attempt to defend the space-time continuum. Exploring new worlds, boss battles and powers Crash Bandicoot: It’s About Time looks to be everything fans have been hoping for.
While the gameplay looks very familiar and holds true to the classic platforming style of Crash games from yesteryear, the characters themselves do take on a slightly, more goofy look. New to the game is the introduction of Quantum Masks. There are four masks in total and give our heroes the power to “bend the rules of reality and conquer dangerous obstacles in exciting new ways.”
I’m calling it early, I think it’s going to be a smash hit. My wife has already organized a babysitter to ensure she can get in a little quality Crash time.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One and Xbox One X on 2 October, 2020. Pre-orders are available now.
