It was only a matter of time until League of Legends developed their own version of Dota Auto Chess. Well, the wait is over LoL fans, Riot Games have confirmed the inevitable as June 25 will see the launch of Teamfight Tactics. As you can safely assume, Teamfight Tactics is heavily inspired by Dota Auto Chess and will feature League of Legends champions, items, and abilities on a hexagonal grid, rather than the traditional chess board seen in Dota Auto Chess.

“We believe in making big commitments to our players and fans, from updating the game every two weeks to creating seasonal events and game modes,” said Teamfight Tactics product manager, Richard Henkel. “Players have expressed a tremendous amount of interest in the autobattler genre, and we hope League of Legends fans are excited to see the game’s signature art, style, and deep gameplay come to life in this new mode.”

The principle is much the same, buy champions and place them strategically on the grid based on each champions strengths and weaknesses, and let them did their thing and slowly cause damage to your enemies round after round. Use the gold earnt to unlock more champions and continue fighting until there’s only one team left standing.
Teamfight Tatics will drop June 25, alongside patch 9.13. Can’t wait until then? Well if you have a Public Beta Environment account, then you’ll be able to access the mode later this week.
