If you have been following my articles (chances are that you haven’t), then you’d know Microsoft Flight Simulator is one of my most anticipated games for next year. It appears as if I’m not the only one as Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neumann recently sat down with AVSIM, where he commented that the team will “try our darnedest” to include VR support.
According to Jorg, VR support “honestly wasn’t our plan” until the public’s reaction to Flight Sim’s E3 trailer. This is somewhat surprising, as if there’s one game that would excel with VR support, it would be Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The good news is that both Microsoft and developer Asobo Studio are open to feedback, with Jorg further stating “we are listening, and we heard it, so we will try our darnedest to make it happen. Whether or not we’re going to pull it off for launch, we can’t commit to that at this point in time, but we are aware of the desire, and given that we genuinely want to make the sim that simmers want, we will try to prioritise that over other things.”
It sounds like we will get VR support for Flight Sim. Jorg wasn’t confident it would be for launch, but it sounds like it’s definitely going to happen at some stage.
