Chris Carew Microsoft and Mojang has announced that Minecraft has officially sold 176 million copies worldwide. The new figures put Minecraft as the best-selling game by unit sales ever released. Taking the number one spot from Tetris at
170 million.
Microsoft has managed to keep the game fresh over the years with Dungeons online co-op, a free browser version, upcoming movie and just announced augmented reality version Minecraft Earth.
