New Overwatch feature, Role Queue, is now live on the Public Test Region (PTR) servers on PC. Role Queue will help bring fair and fun game-play well into the future of Overwatch .
The Overwatch community has grown with the game, always evolving and becoming more in-tune with the game’s characteristics, while discovering and sharing new high-level approaches to play.
“We’re introducing Role Queue to help ensure Overwatch matches continue to be fair and fun well into the future, create an environment that fosters teamwork, and encourages players to bring their very best to every match.”
Role Queue will allow players to choose the role they want. Be it tank, support, or damage before a Quick Play or Competitive Play match starts. With a separate skill rating for each role.
The matchmaking system will then match two tanks, two supports, and two damage heroes to create a team, as entering the match, players can select heroes from their chosen roles. Once the match completes, players will return to the main menu and select their role before queuing for the next game.
For all the details on Role Queue check out the official Play Overwatch page.
Official Overwatch esports and Stage 4 of the Overwatch League will receive A 2-2-2 role limit. Check out the full changes to Stage 4 of Overwatch League play from this link.
