PlayStation 5 Launches November In Australia

For everyone keen enough to get up at 6 am AEST this morning you would have caught the official launch of PS5 with Sony answering the big questions we have all been waiting for, the PS5 will roll out in select markets including Australia, North America and Japan on November 12, followed by Europe and additional regions on November 19.

Sony Entertainment confirmed what we have already seen with its launch of two separate consoles which includes The PS5 Digital Edition that will be available for a recommended retail price (RRP) of $599.95 AUD, and PS5 with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive will be available for an RRP of $749.95 AUD. Pre-orders will be available starting as early as today at select retailers with EB Games Australia offering big trade-in discounts for PS4 Pro and Slim similar to what they are offering on the next-generation Xbox consoles.

Unlike the two consoles on offer from Xbox that differ on processing power and storage, both PS5 models use the same custom processor with integrated CPU and GPU for high-fidelity graphics up to 4K, as well as the same ultra-high speed SSD with integrated I/O that will deliver lightning-fast loading. Both PS5 models also offer a deepened sense of immersion through the DualSense wireless controller and 3D audio capabilities, so players will enjoy the same transformative gameplay experiences regardless of which PS5 they choose. Both consoles are similar in size with only the disc drive and Blue-Ray option being the key difference between the two.
