Predator: Hunting Grounds – Epic Games Store.
Following from the successful trail weekend last month, Predator: Hunting Grounds is shaping up to one of the best games released so far this year. Charles Brungardt, CEO of Predator: Hunting Grounds’ developer IllFonic, released a statement thanking everyone for playing over the trial weekend and explaining their post launch plan. Oh, he also mentions that Predator: Hunting Grounds is out tomorrow – April 24, which is also my birthday… hint, hint!
Charles explains that apart from the satisfaction of watching people finally being able to enjoy their game, the development team were hard at work capturing data and listening to feedback at how they can improve the game, most noticeable regarding balancing the game. Charles goes into further detail;
“For the Fireteam we made infil locations based on the mission. Quick gear swapping controls are now shown on the screen and many weapon adjustments have been made, in regard to damage done, etc. We made the diffuse button for the Predator Self Destruct sequence easier to interact with. However, there is an increased difficulty with the Self Destruct puzzle. Also for the Predator target isolation will no longer start at 100% at the match start. We also enabled the ability to switch weapons while transitioning in Predkour and made changes to various elements of the weapons, like damage. One of the pieces of feedback we heard a lot was about the Predator’s footstep sounds, we updated the walking/running footstep attenuation to make the Predator stealthier.”.
Along with these changes, the devs have also made changes by improving matchmaking times and notifications, enabling crossplay by default, voice mic mute is no longer enabled by default, and performance. Performance is something Charles explains that will be an ongoing issue, something they will continually address with planned updates post-launch
Finally, Charles saves the best for last by announcing a Digital Deluxe Edition that is available now for pre-purchase now. This edition includes exclusive in-game items and even a retro ‘87 Predator skin, one for all you Predator fans.
