Esports is rapidly growing in Oceania and its great to see big international companies recogniose this growth and help support the scene. This time it’s Razer who have teamed up with one of the biggest esport orginzations in Australia, Legacy Esports.
“Team Razer has been expanding our footprint to support esports teams across the globe. Now we are proud to extend our support to the Oceanic region,” said David Tse, Global Esports Director at Razer. “Legacy Esports has proven to be a top notch esports team within Australia. We are inspired by their grit and perserverence to elevate esports within their region.”
Legacy Esports was originally established in 2014 as Avant Grade Ascension, but has since rebranded itself as Legacy Esports with its League of Legends team. Legacy Esports has since expanded their portfolio of teams to not only include League of Legends, but also CSGO, Rocket League, Smite, Starcraft II, Super Smash Bros and most recently Overwatch back in 2017. This coincided with the Adelaide Football Club aquiring the brand. When one of the biggest AFL teams branches out into esports, it is a clear sign of how big esports is becoming in the land down under!
