New date for PlayStation 5 event.
Like many other entertainment companies, Sony chose to step aside this past week to support the Black Lives Matter movement and make sure vital voices could be heard. Yesterday, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that they have formerly postponed the PlayStation 5 event. Being rescheduled for Friday, June 12th, at 6:00 am AEST.
The digital showcase will run for over an hour and provide a first look into the future of PlayStation and feature new information on the games that will be available to players on PS5. The program is a pre-recorded broadcast that will be presented at 1080p and 30 frames per second.
Sony says the reason for these choices is that most of their staff are working from home, and this quality was much more manageable during these already stressful times. That being said, they also mention that this is not due to the PlayStation 5 performance and that games will look much better when played in 4k. The presentation will be available to watch on PlayStation’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
