ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove! to get Nintendo Switch release and Collector’s Edition

Who could forget playing Toejam & Earl on the Sega Genesis (Sega Mega drive for all us Australians out there). It was a cult co-op classic that I still play to this day. Unfortunately, the sequels ToeJam & Earl: Panic on Funkotron, and the rather forgetful ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth weren’t able to reach the heights of the original T&E. This leads us to 2015, HumaNature Studios (founded by original co-founder and developer of the original T&E trilogy) successfully funded a Kickstarter campaign for a new Toejam & Earl game, ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove! And thankfully, Back in the Groove!’ is going back to basics. It looks as funky and groovy as it did in 1991. And best of all, it’s released in 15 days!

Anyone got a cassette player I can borrow?

The good news continues for all us Toejam & Earl fans, HumaNature Studios today announced that the Nintendo Switch will be joining the party and will receive both physical and digital releases in March. HumaNature Studios didn’t stop there, both the Switch and PlayStation 4 will have feature a one time only, physical Collector’s Edition that will include;

• 4 enamel pins featuring the game’s main characters
• 2 enamel pin blind boxes, each featuring one unique Earthling pin
• A 25-piece puzzle recreating a map from the game
• 10 pin stands to set your pins up on the map
• Various environment standees to embellish your map
• 18 x 24 inch poster
• The game soundtrack on physical cassette tape

The news for us PC gamers and backers isn’t as good, but still promising with HumaNature Studios stating that “We’ll also have more info soon about the Kickstarter exclusive PC edition soon”.

Yeeahhhhhhhh

For those who need this Collector’s Edition, head over to Limited Run Games on Friday, February 15th 2019 at 10 AM Eastern Time to secure your pre-order.
