MPG B550 GAMING CARBON WIFI
Appearance has been at the forefront of the new boards, MSI has mentioned that they want the board to be as aesthetically pleasing as it is powerful. Inspired by supercars, the MPG B550 Gaming Carbon WiFi motherboard features a sleek design with etched aluminum coverings. These coverings will have a 7W/mK level thermal & choke pad to ensure optimal heat transfer at lower temperatures.
Lightning Gen 4 PCI-E, including M.2 with M.2 Shield Frozr, provides high-speed transmission of up to 64GB/s. Combining 8+4 pin power connectors and Core Boost technology gives more stability and maximum performance with AMD 3rd Gen Ryzen processors. The board also supports DDR4 memory up to 5100mh/z.
MPG B550 Gaming Carbon WiFi provides consumers with a stunning looking board that also packs a punch. Getting optimal performance out of new technologies with plenty of room to grow the MPG series is perfect for anyone looking for a “future proof” setup.
MPG B550 and B550I GAMING EDGE WIFI
The B550 and B550I share many similar specifications, with the larger ATX B550 having slightly better performance. As the only mini-ITX motherboard in the MSI B550 family, The MPG B550I Gaming Edge WiFi is designed to satisfy any gamers’ needs while also fitting in smaller form factor builds.
Premium power design features 8+2+1 Direct Power Phases, which ensure maximum performance. Eight layer PCB with 2oz thickened copper provide extra stability for high-speed transmission concerning PCIe 4.0 technology. Heating solutions are critical for any mini-ITX build, and the MPG B550I GAMING EDGE WIFI is equipped with an Extended Heatsink Design and an additional choke pad for optimal thermal performance.
The same lightning Gen 4 M.2 with Frozr Shield and heatsink design maintain lower temperatures and prevent throttling on M.2 devices. HDMI 2.1 technology supports 4K displays with up to 4096×[email protected] MPG B550 Gaming Edge boards offer premier performance in varying sizes that allow enthusiasts to push their next PC build to the limit.
MPG B550 GAMING PLUS
While no official pricing has been announced, based on the specifications, it looks as if the MPG B550 Gaming Plus is going to be the starting point for the MPG motherboards. While being on the lower end of the series, the board still features premium new technology and powerful performance.
Featuring the same Frozr heatsink technology and PCIe 4.0 solutions, the (hopefully) more affordable B550 Gaming Plus looks to be an excellent board for anyone looking to optimize on a budget. Another ATX form factor board, the B550 Gaming Plus has space for two M.2 drives and supports up to 128gb of RAM. The most substantial difference between the Gaming Plus and other B550 boards being the support of only up to 4400mh/z DDR4 ram instead of 5100.
